If you are checking out movie scores, I highly highly recommend the scores from “The Last Temptation Of Christ”….think it was composed by Peter Gabriel(?)….and “The Mission”
Growing up I would grab a tortilla (raised in NM so we always had them around) slather it with peanut butter and honey and have that for a snack everyday after school. I recently restarted that afternoon snack tradition. Didn’t know I had missed it so much!
I inadvertently (I mean OBVIOUSLY) lightly poisoned myself last week by having expired coconut milk on a bowl of Cinnamon Toast Crunch that I had bought for house guests. If I have cereal, I do miniwheats or Raisin Bran, but the lure of the CTC got me. I was SO SICK all day. So I might be off cereal for a minute.
I feel guilty drinking almond milk because it takes so much water to grow the almonds. So far, I like coconut milk the best and appreciate that it doesn’t taste like coconuts.
Growing up we did not have sugary cereals BUT my mom liked Honey Nut Cheerios. To this day, the smell of HNC is repulsive to me because we had them every single day.
I have been eating cereal on repeat (and even added chocolate milk this week) and I will not apologize. It makes me so happy! And my DIL made me the world’s best PB&J when we went paddle boarding and I have been dreaming about it since then but keep forgetting to buy white bread and jelly! 🤣
I had the same experience with PB&Js this summer! I haven’t had one in decades and bought the fixings for backup lunches while we were at the lake and I’ve been eating them at least once a week since! Loving them!
That's such a good idea. For a while I was doing low-fi versions of my favorite pop songs, because they're so chill and often instrumental, but these are so much better.
We eat cereal for "dinner" every night! (Caveat: we eat our main dinner meal as our first meal - we basically swapped meal timings). It has been nostalgic and comforting like I did not expect!
Ive been into sending letter mail these days, often including stickers. It feels so "write gramma a letter" and I love doing it!
And lately when im painting in my art room, I have cartoons on my phone....not to watch but I just listen and it feels safe and like the real world is gone, just for a bit.
I love this! We never had sugary cereal as a kid (I was a mini-wheats freak), but my mom would occasionally buy Frosted Flakes, and we could only eat it as dessert.
We couldnt have sugary stuff either....rice krispies, corn flakes, shreddies. We sometimes sub in cooked oatmeal and thats where we got to load up w brown sugar!

I love movie scores while I work! I put them on for the kids too while they play, and they seem to stay 'in the zone' a lot longer. Win-win.
