Kiss, Marry or Kill: My top ten books of 2022
And I haven't talked about any of 'em yet. (Obviously, this is "Marry.")
I haven’t shared any book reviews on Instagram lately, although during my Boundaries book tour, I read more than ever. (I have a rule that I don’t work on planes, so there’s plenty of time for books.) In assembling these, I saw some themes: Strong female protagonists. Queer love. Stories that span the centuries. Themes as characters. Explorations of power and privilege. Surprisingly this year, nothing was dark and twisty, and in general, I read quite a bit more historical-inspired fiction than in past years.
Here are my top ten reads of 2022, force-ranked in a way that I continue to second-guess to this minute so I’m just going to push send.
