Whew! You delivered that so clearly and beautifully. Received. And thank you ❤️🥰 I'd been going through some stuff and was so curious as to why I couldn't hold my usual steady ground that I do for all patients all the time going through cancer surgery .... the answer is in this. Self belonging... it's slipped a bit and we crashed there for a minute. I hadn't even noticed how the self belonging had crept away, only the aftermath of it happening and the crash after. What a relief and freedom to see this today!

“My purpose in life is to serve my community; to guide and lead people through physical and emotional transformation. I can’t step outside of myself to connect with them unless I belong to myself so firmly, so strongly, that I have enough strength and conviction to hold both of us up as they go through that process.”

This hit soooo hard.

I started my master’s in social work this week so that I can become a therapist. This is the message I really needed to hear today. Thank you. 💗

I literally cried reading this, it was so good and so meaningful. You captured so many of my feelings into words Melissa- Brene often talks about how important language is, and through this article you've given me that and so much more. Echoes, echoes, echoes!!!! Thank you for your bravery in sharing Melissa. Be well.
