Can you please tell us the violin songs? Easier to start from there than to try to find them. (If they are songs I already listen to I will ignore them for this purpose!) Love this idea and will do anything to try to train my brain to sleep.

Hi! I made a little playlist for you on Spotify. There are a number of instrumental tracks (some piano, even a harp!) that would work, and I’ve included the exact pink noise track I use. I want you to be able to pick your own based on what feels relaxing to you! Spotify also has a ton of nature sounds to choose from; that first step is highly customizable and can really be anything relaxing that isn’t white noise.

That is awesome! I don't see it, though I am digging the Strong and Bendy playlist! BTW, I had already named my Spotify playlist for this "Melissa says sleep." (Hoping the Pavlovian cues + my Obliger tendencies will respond.)

Melissa, I hope this isn't too personal a question, but do you have a partner in your room when you're going to sleep, and if so, how do they handle the white noise? I struggle to fall asleep, and sometimes my husband, who stays up later, comes in during my falling-asleep routine, making it hard to relax. He, of course, is able to fall asleep immediately, and snores, so I wear earplugs. Thank you!

I do, Brandon and I sleep together. We had this convo so early—we go to bed at the same time because neither of us are night owls. He falls asleep immediately and can sleep with lights on, my audiobook going, and certainly my white noise. Nothing bothers this man! I’m not sure we would have dated at all if he was like “I need to sleep in complete silence.” Also your partner will probably get used to it, and may grow to appreciate it!

Also if one of us is going to stay up later, we sleeps in the guest room. I do not want to be woken up again just as I’ve fallen asleep, and either one of us coming in later will rouse the dogs. So that’s just something we do.

Also I like sleeping alone sometimes! Just for fun! AND if one of us is sick or if Brandon has allergies and can’t breathe well, we sleep apart. Basically we utilize that guest room judiciously 😂 and it works for both our sleep and our relationship.

Thank you! For us, going to sleep in another room is more feasible when our son's at college (we don't have another guest room, just my office). It feels "mean" to ask hubby to go sleep in another room when he's snoring, but that can probably be avoided by having the convo ahead of time. :)

I love this! Thank you for sharing! I’m a big reader before bed. My son and I usually jump in together and read for at least 15 minutes and I’ve used a sound machine since he was born (he’s 12). Always looking for any tips for

Improving sleep!
