Book Review: The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue, by V.E. Schwab
After the month we've had, I NEEDED The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue. One of the best books of my 2020. The one that can truly live up to the magic of Night Circus. Yeah, I said it.
This book was a wicked, clever, sweeping chronicle alternating between past and present, unraveling Addie's story with the perfect amount of “wait what?” The main character is decidedly unforgettable for her spirit, tenacity, and general badassery. As for her counterpart, let's just say I've never been so hot for the devil. (Don't @ me.) It's tart and sharp and quick all the way to the very end, and the end was, in a word, perfect.
I feel like we ALL need fiction right now. My brain needs a break from the news cycle, but my heart only wants things that make it happy. The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue is perfect for this moment. Go read it.
