Book Review: The Ten Thousand Doors of January by Alix E. Harrow
I just finished the best book of 2020, and yeah, I’m calling it early. The Ten Thousand Doors of January, by Alix E. Harrow.
I love books that make you believe in magic—the kind of magic that, as grown-ups, we’ve come to accept doesn’t exist in our world... except for one tiny place in our heart somewhere deep down where we still believe. Ordinary-looking doors that open into different lands, love that spans lifetimes, stories recognized as familiar by your very soul, and ordinary girls who turn out to be anything but ordinary, becoming the hero they’ve been wishing for. This book has all of that and more, with lines that are just dark and sharp and twisting enough to hurt just the right amount.
I still believe in magic. Books like this make that belief stronger.
