Thanks for these “recipes.” They sound similar to a family favorite “cabbage and beef.” It’s really simple. You’ll need:
Ground beef
Cabbage
Salt and pepper
In a Dutch oven brown ground beef. Add salt and a very generous amount of black pepper. Drain 3/4 of fat and add sliced cabbage creating your best ratio of beef to cabbage. I usually go half and half. Cover and “steam” the cabbage until it’s your desired consistency. We might serve over rice and add soy sauce or just eat alone. It’s great warmed up in the morning either in a scramble or as a hash with an over easy egg on top. My husband and I both grew up with it in very different households. Unsure of its origin and if you look online you can find many ways to add to it, but I think this simple version is the best!
Can you do something similar for veggies?? I do like them but I’m in a really, stressful, really busy season and they’ve fallen out of my diet. (Salads are boring, I have no time to plan well, my rough plans keep getting scrambled so fresh veggies go bad, I’ve blown through my frozen veggie stash and barely have time to put together a grocery delivery - it’s almost over but I’ll have a similar season next spring and fall.)
1. Do you have an air fryer? 2. Do you have the budget for pre-cut fresh veggies? 3. Do you have 40 minutes 2x a week where you can be home chilling while things are cooking?
