I canβt wait for all the nitty gritty details! I followed along with you on Insta throughout the trip and it looked absolutely amazing, especially penguin beach ππ
I've been frantically writing things up before I forget them! I also have some book recos for y'all--I know I haven't written as much in the last month, so I have all of these written in my head, and I just need to find the time to put them into the computer. :)
I really, really enjoyed your IG stories about your adventures (and Brandon's pictures, which were amazing!).
I would love to hear about the people you met and how you engaged with the culture and history there.
I also admit to having some mixed feelings about the whole Safari industry. I recognize the desire to see nature in its, well, most natural. And I myself want to visit and see the amazing wonders and animals in the Motherland. But I also see how the animals have become accustomed to cars and people, which makes me wonder what impact there has been on them overall. I don't mean to be a downer, but I would be curious on your thoughts about how you made choices as to which Safari company to go with, and if any of that factored into your decision. Thanks!
Excited for all the info to come! On my wish list! Would like to know how you choose South Africa for safari over say like Botswana or Tanzania etc. Iβm guessing partly bc of your friends in S.A. And also trip insurance, is this something separate you purchase? Was it through travel agent? Guessing youβre talking more than buying the insurance for your flights?
THANK you for this! Iβm doing a research trip in South Africa (and East Africa), visiting human evolution sites. But I want to add some safari time as well, since Iβm bringing my kindergartener. This is incredibly helpful!
Whatβs it like to rent a car in a foreign country? I know each country is different, but any general guidelines? Did your travel agent assist with this part? Thank you!
Love this! My husband and I took a 3-week Southern Africa trip back in 2004 (before kids) and this brings back great memories. Now I want to go back π.
Iβm so excited for this! I followed along on Instagram, both yours and Brandonβs.
πI would like your tips on doing this with a child.
πI would also like to know if you did any prep work on what to do if an emergency happened. Like did you pack medications or know where the Emegency rooms were etc.
πI would also love the details on the hikes you did and to know if Brandon has forgiven you. lol. π
Hahahaha on that last one. YES to doing this with a child, I have details on that in the safari portion already. I also have tips about medications and vaccinations, and YES, we had expensive but worth it trip insurance for this one--I wouldn't do a trip like this without that. Standby!

Thank you for doing this. I canβt wait to hear all about the safari stuff.
That post is SO LONG, but I'm going to write a short summary as a freebie, then leave ALLLLL the details for paid subscribers. It's going to be epic!
