Last weekend, I spent a few hours scrolling through all of my Whole30 book tour photos, dating all the way back to 2012.
Twelve years ago in Salt Lake City, I nervously arranged copies of It Starts With Food on a table in a local cafe, preparing for my first ever book tour event.
Nine years ago in Nashua, my mom attended her first Whole30 book tour, and waited in line for me to sign her book like a “true fan.”
Eight years ago in San Francisco, I signed a book for a woman with a Whole30 tattoo on her forearm (except the “0” in “30” was half an avocado).
Seven years ago in Seattle, I held a piece of paper wishing Julie a happy birthday, because she couldn’t be there but sent a friend to get her book signed.
Six years ago in Austin, Brandon and Jeff showed up two and a half hours early just to get good seats—and I’m still in touch with them on Instagram.
Five years ago in Portland, Shannon brought me several jars of her famous pickled veggies. (They were delicious.)
Four years ago in Charleston, I got to hug the sweet boy who wrote and illustrated the first ever Whole30 comic book. (Love you, G!)
My last Whole30 book tour was more than four years ago, and I have missed them tremendously. Meeting you in person, listening to your Whole30 success stories, and sharing in your Non-Scale Victories is the best part of my job. Across the years, I’ve had so many memorable moments—lots of laughter, thousands of hugs, and tears of joy and gratitude.
So let’s do it again, shall we?

Brought to you by Chomps
I am grateful to our Whole30 Approved partner Chomps for sponsoring this book tour. As you may know, Chomps is a minority-owned, family-owned and operated healthy meat snack brand. All Chomps sticks are made from grass-fed and finished beef, grass-fed and finished venison, or antibiotic-free turkey.
Chomps was one of our earliest Whole30 Approved partners (going back to 2013!), and have grown right alongside the Whole30. Their Turkey Pepperoni and Taco Beef meat sticks are my current favorite flavors, and their mini-size sticks are perfect for my kid’s lunchbox. (Dip them in Kite Hill Cream Cheese—trust.)
Chomps’ mission is to inspire, educate, and fuel their community with accessible, sustainable, real food that doesn't compromise on taste. It feels right to bring Chomps along with me as we celebrate this new era of Whole30—and they’ll be sending snacks to every tour stop, so nobody gets hangry in the signing line.
Hi!! I got tickets to the Toledo stop and wanted to confirm the date. It says Aug. 7 above, but my ticket says Aug. 6. I assume the tickets are correct, but wanted to check. I am so excited to see you in Toledo!!!! Thank you!
P. S. They are a local bookshop, And they have a huge following. They book North Central College’s Wentz Auditorium for authors with large audiences. I took my son to see Mike Rowe there (Dirty Jobs).
