Something I learned during college: it always seems like your bestie would be the best roommate, but in reality the person you’re casual friends with but have a lot in common is almost always a better option. There are so many less opportunities to resent each other or have arguments that could derail the friendship with someone you’re not super close to.
I hear you--I'd say moving in with a romantic partner runs the same risks! It's hard to cohabitate, especially if you've been living alone for a long time.
